Welcome to Bryn Mawr
Welcome to the Bryn Mawr School webpage.  We are working hard to make this site informative and useful to the Bryn Mawr Community.  All of our important links are located in the sidebar to the left.  Please feel free to explore.  Below you will see a sampling of our students in action!  Additional slide shows of our students can be found in the 'Bryn Mawr at a glance' link in the side bar.  Don't forget to check out the Principal's Place too for current information on the happenings at Bryn Mawr School.

We welcome your feed back as we continue to improve and enhance the information available to you on this site.

The Bryn Mawr Pledge

We are like a family at Bryn Mawr.  Together we discover, learn and grow with respect.  We live by the Golden Rule:  “treat others the way you would like to be treated.”

As a Bryn Mawr student I want to do what is right each and every day.
I want to be kind to others.  I want to listen to my teachers.
I want to protect my environment.  I will be safe when I play.
This is my pledge.

Engineering is Elementary
First Grade students learned first hand about the engineering design process.  They build newspaper towers, marble roller coasters, paper bridges and explored one eyed vision.

Community Reading Day
Thank you to all of the generous community members who participated in Community Reading Day today.  The Bryn Mawr School students and staff thank you for taking time from your busy day to share so many wonderful stories with us.  Thank you for sharing your thoughts on the importance of reading too!

Dr. Seuss Celebration
Bryn Mawr School celebrated Dr. Seuss's Birthday on Friday, March 2nd.  Together as a whole school, we read The Lorax.  Using an e-book and a projector, the entire school community enjoyed this timely story about protecting our environment.  Students then read the Dr. Seuss version of the Reader's Oath to remind us all about the importance of reading each and every day.  Mrs. Bieksha, our art teacher, constructed a forest of Truffula Trees in our hallway.  Students created leaves for the trees that included their ideas for making the world a better place.  Lead by Mrs. Bieksha, teachers constructed a 'Smile Machine' in the spirit of Dr. Seuss using a variety of movements and props.  The students really did smile as they watched their teachers perform.  A variety of additional activities took place in each classroom.  Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!

Camp Read-A-Lot

The second graders at Bryn Mawr are headed off to camp on Friday, CAMP READ-A-LOT that is!

On Friday, February 17th, the grade two students will bring in sleeping bags, pillows and a bag full of their favorite books to read and share with their camper friends.

Also during this fun filled day, the campers will be able to play phonics games, listen to books on tape, partner read or just relax alone and enjoy a few good books.

The campers will have a great time creating a craft, singing songs and eating snacks!

Special visitors from Auburn Middle School will also be at Bryn Mawr to share their original published stories on tolerance and kindness.

READING is never boring here at Bryn Mawr.J

K Valentine's Day
Kindergarten students joined forces with the Auburn Middle School Student Council to create Valentine's Day cards.  The Valentine's Day cards will be delivered to pediatric patients at UMASS Hospital in Worcester.

Kindergarten Gingerbread House Donation
Kindergarten Students worked with their classmates to create Gingerbread Houses for the Worcester Firefighters.  This project was an effort to show support of the Worcester Firefighters as they struggled through another loss from their department.  The firefighters were thrilled to receive these heartfelt gifts.

Kindergarten Community Day
Kindergarten students learned more about their community with the help of several town departments.  On October 17th Bryn Mawr was visited by members of the Fire department, the Ambulance squad, the Police department, the Water department, the Highway department and the Post Office.  Each department brought one of their vehicles with them for students to see and explore.  Students were able to ask questions and get an up close look at some important pieces of their community.

A huge thank you to all of the participating departments!  Our students loved this experience.

Thanks to Mr. Duhamel for all of his efforts in organizing this wonderful event.
